We are located along the coast of
Southeastern Massachusetts, approximately 25 miles south of the city
of Boston and only a few miles north of historic Plymouth,
Massachusetts. In 1992 at the ADGA Spotlight Sale the
partnership known as Ladies Choice, between Janbouree
Toggenburgs and Center Stage Farm began with the purchase of the
Alpine doe, Missdee's Magdalena - over a bottle of champagne. In the past decade
Ladies Choice Farms has successfully bred many champion Alpine and Toggenburg does. As well, we enjoy exhibiting them across the
nation!
Janbouree Toggenburgs of
Pembroke, MA began in 1978 with a doe descended from the Ploughshares
lines. Through the use of careful breeding they added Stoney
Brook genetics to the breeding program. Later, Split Hoof, Ebarb,
Tansy Hill and Twinbrook lines were used to help build a strong
foundation of herd of Toggenburgs. To further improve the herd AI has
been used as well as addition of genetics from many lines which have
been proven throughout the United States and Canada.
Today we are proud of our herd
that not only milks well but has proven themselves in the show
ring and through the use of Linear Appraisal. With does earning
scores as high as EX91 and many grand championship wins under their
belts we are quite proud of them.
Center Stage Farm of
Kingston, MA has been breeding purebred French Alpines since 1981.
Breeding for a stylish dairy doe with correct conformation as
well as a well attached mammary system, who not only milks
consistently over a long steady lactation but places highly in the
show ring as well. High butterfat is also very desirable since
much of the milk is used to make cheese. The herd has been
participating in Linear Appraisal and DHIR since 1993 and not only are
we pleased with their scores but we are extremely proud of the two
hard working does who made it into the Top Ten in butterfat despite a
busy show season.
